On March 20, 2023, DiMascio was accused of domestic abuse by fans and Kalyn McCabe. This caused significant controversy on the internet. In response to one of these incidents, Something Witty terminated DiMascio and eventually, he would be blacklisted from doing any more Sentai Filmworks, Sound Cadence Studios, and Funimation/Crunchyroll dubs as a voice actor.
