Akemitsu Akagami is the male protagonist of the manga Temple. He helps around the Mikazuki Temple as a monk together with its residents and the son of the notorious Akagami family.

Akemitsu admired his father's lifestyle and looked up to him before realizing how immoral his father was. Determined to overcome the stigma of the Akagami bloodline, Akemitsu strived to avoid women and focus on academic excellence to earn a decent livelihood. Likewise, women brand him as a pervert for bearing the Akagami surname.

On one fateful evening, Akemitsu encountered his first love but refused to give in, resulting in his decision to become a monk to rid himself of all impurities.
